The project consists of an extensive renovation of the building, “Former asylum” to be converted into a Multifunctional Centre is intended to the family and the childhood.
The design is conceived in order to create an architectural organism that combines innovative technologies in the field of structural, plant engineering, energy and architectural.
The aim is to integrate the building with the fabric of the natural and urban surroundings, enhancing it, and enhancing the elements.
The orientation of the building, the outdoor area and access to the structure are reconfigured in line with the principles of bio-architecture, the bioclimatic architecture and green building, by paying attention to the trajectory of the sun.
The building refurbishments was not considered as a mere container of teaching functions, but as a place that captures the value of a symbol of the evolution of the educational system and society, leaning more and more towards environmental sustainability and the development of a sensitivity associated with it on the part of students, parents and school staff.
The redevelopment of spaces and environments for teaching and learning provides an important cue on the role of architecture and design in general, which can become a real educational tools, in addition to urban regeneration and social.
The interior spaces have been designed according to the principle of flexibility, to facilitate the functions of family support and promote the aggregation intergenerational.
The space, in fact, affect the behaviour and relationships, making it necessary for the realization of a comfortable, stimulating, and suited to the needs of the students and their teachers.
