The redevelopment of the Contigliano sports centre is part of a broader strategy by the local administration to enhance the area. Following an in-depth study of innovative solutions applied to the entire facility, particular attention was given to the energy and functional requalification of the locker room block.

The project included the demolition of the existing building and its reconstruction using brick partition walls, reinforced concrete floors and an external thermal insulation system (cappotto). The implemented zero-emission technologies not only meet heating and domestic hot water needs but also help reduce CO2 emissions in the environment.

With the improvement to the sports facility the aim was to contribute to the enhancement of a territory that like so many small towns is affected by depopulation, to improve the services provided and creating a strong urban and architectural identity. The project seeks to eliminate the effects of years of neglect and progressive degradation of structures and open spaces.

The requalification project, funded under the “Sport e Periferie 2023”, included the following:

Renovation of the existing synthetic turf pitch, adapting it for 11-a-side and 8-a-side football, with the provision of necessary accessories for both disciplines;

Installation of an irrigation system to serve the new pitch;

Relamping of the pitch area;

Energy efficiency upgrades to the existing locker room block, involving demolition and reconstruction;

Construction of a new Padel court.
