The design proposal was inspired by the idea of a contemporary school characterised by its connection with nature and the surrounding urban environment. It was based on the ambition to create a space that enhances the quality of life while promoting a lifestyle more mindful of environmental resources and needs.

The objective was to integrate pedagogical principles and bio-architecture into architectural decisions, with a focus on climate context, environmental health and renewable energy sources.

The project proposed a modular building, adaptable to the neighbourhood scale, constructed with eco-sustainable and prefabricated materials. It is characterised by a sequence of open, semi-open and enclosed spaces, forming new architectural and urban scenarios that transform the complex into a hub open to community activities, complementing its core educational functions.

The design concept was driven by the need to rethink the school as a place for building society: an integrated, flexible environment where modular and multifunctional spaces can be easily reconfigured. The spatial design aims to support a psycho-pedagogical approach where the connection with the outdoors and the full accessibility of spaces facilitate continuous learning, making the physical environment of the school an integral part of the educational process.

The school complex was designed in compliance with structural safety and environmental sustainability standards. It also incorporates innovative system solutions, including high-quality facilities and a building automation system to monitor energy consumption, regulate the internal microclimate and reduce energy costs.
